[NEWSLETTER] The Environmental Crisis?

The Voices of America Scholarship is now inviting submissions on the following new prompt.
Round 7 - The Environmental Crisis:
"What are our biggest environmental issues, and how can young people help find solutions?"
There are not many people who deny the scientific consensus that we are in the midst of an environmental crisis right now, but there are many different opinions on the causes and what (if anything) can and should be done about it.
Young people today are the ones who will inherit the crisis, and likely feel the worst impacts of it over coming decades, so we want to get your perspectives on this. Is there really a crisis? If so, what role can you play in identifying solutions, and what gives you hope for a better future?
We wrote a blog here outlining some of the background to this issue and outlining some potential solutions from differing perspectives and what young people can do.
Albion College Campus Ambassadors Program
Our first Campus Ambassador Program is live in partnership with Albion College in Michigan. A $1000 grant will be delivered under the Voices of America Scholarship in partnership with Albion’s Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service and the Center for Sustainability and Environment.
The program features an Innovation Module in which students from Albion will earn digital badges for completing real-world tasks in the areas of Communications & Public Advocacy, Civility & Ethics, and Personal Branding & Social Media. These badges offer employer-recognized credentials that can be used to upgrade students’ resumes and LinkedIn profiles.

A quick reminder about submissions for our co-created blog platform.
1. Short Takes - (250-word comments on a specific topic.) These will be included in co-created articles along with perspectives from other students.
2. Feature Article Pitches (a 250-word pitch on a specific topic.) This should outline an article or essay you’d like to submit of between 500-1000 words.)
3. Student Interview/Profiles (a 250-word intro) Tell us about yourself, what you are aiming to achieve, and we will feature you in a profile or interview as one of our Student Thought-Leaders.
The Voices of the Future Blog will be hosted on Substack.
Note, contributions will all add to your overall score on Scholarship award assessments. (We will be formalizing a points system and leaderboard shortly so watch this space.)
